“Due to the rescission of the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, it is now more important than ever to support this community. The DACAmented and undocumented community are people in our families, friendship groups, and neighborhoods who came to America at a young age and have little to no recollection of their country of origin.

One tangible and concrete way to support the DACAmented community in this moment is by giving and providing financial assistance to cover the $495 DACA renewal fee.

The goal of this fundraiser is to raise $5,000 to cover renewal fees for 10 DACA recipients (regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, ability, sexual orientation, religion, or geographic location in the United States). The renewal deadline is October 5th, 2017 for DACA recipients whose benefits will expire by March 5, 2018.

100% of the money raised will go towards DACA recipients to cover their DACA renewal fee.”

We are a collective of individuals rooted in the South who are Hmong, Lao, Chinese, and Korean with backgrounds in community, grassroots organizing and higher education. We created this fund as one way to raise visibility and awareness of the Asian American/Pacific Islander DACAmented individuals.

Did you know that 1 in 7 Asian American immigrants is undocumented? The youcaring link also contains more info about undocumented AAPIs. Check it out!

We have just one week left to raise the second half of our goal! Donate if you can, but if not, please reblog and share the link!

Gonna keep reblogging lol. We have 6 DACAmented folks who reached out to us for renewal support, but only enough funds for 5!! Please donate if you can. Any lil bit will help. Gonna be reaching out to my favorite blogs to help boost in a bit.

If you can help at all to help people with legal fees so that they can stay, learn, and contribute to their country, please do.

If not, please give this a boost so others might see.

ACLU sues Trump immigration officials for arresting undocumented teens with unproven gang ties

  • The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the Trump administration, accusing immigration officials of using efforts to crack down on the Latino gang MS-13 as a guise to round up and deport otherwise innocent undocumented teens.
  • ACLU attorneys on Friday filed a federal lawsuit naming Attorney General Jeff Sessions along with several federal immigration officials.
  • The suit claims the feds are arresting underage Latino youths accused of being gang members and processing them for deportation without first verifying they are actually in a gang.
  • “The agencies in charge of this effort do not undertake any meaningful review of the allegations of gang affiliation on which their decisions are based,” the complaint reads. Read more. (8/12/17, 1:25 PM)

4chan tried to lure immigrants into deportation traps. It didn’t work.

  • Users of the notorious message board 4chan reportedly tried to have undocumented immigrants deported by offering them free iced coffee.
  • As first reported by BuzzFeed News, users of 4chan’s /pol subforum, a space for “politically incorrect” discussion, hatched a plan to promote “Dreamer Day,” a fictitious event at which Starbucks would offer free drinks to undocumented immigrants.
  • When they arrived as Starbucks, agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement would be waiting, having been alerted by 4chan users.
  • An ICE official told Mic that the agency was in no way involved in the plan and didn’t approve of it.
  • “We certainly would not participate in any kind of scheme like this. This kind of thing is irresponsible and potentially dangerous and it’s not something we would be a part of,” the agent said. Read more (8/7/17)
