Why are we listening to anything Jim Carrey has to say about politics? I’m sure he’s in the 1% himself.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with being in the 1%. Even if the richest person in the world only made $19,000 and everyone else made $18,000 they’d still be in the top 1%.
The problem is when that 1% uses their resources and influence to suppress less fortunate people to better their own, already fortunate, situations.
There’s nothing wrong with working hard, earning what you have, and being well off. That’s the American dream.
But we have to remember that our well-being can’t come at the expense of others. The suppression of others. The exploitation of others.
